Syntax Desktop is a Content Management System simple and flexible. It was born as a support tool in my office work, but now became a very used software in many web sites.
The name born from three ideas:
- Syntax should be the name of a company never created
- Some of my friend call me Syntax Supervisor, because of a university exams project, where I do very little
- I like the name “syntax” beacuse it ends with an X, very cool in this period (i.e. windows xp, dreamweaver mx, Mac OsX, etc…)
Obviously, the name was extended with a “desktop” because the is similar to a virtual writing desk.
The project was born from an idea of my former-connects, Dimitri Giardina , the person who initially taught the use of PHP.
Syntax Desktop wants to be a complete system for the web content manegement. For this reason some functions have been implemented, others instead are left the final customer. Syntax contains in fact an administration pages builder engine that allow to manage whichever type of structured data.
